Salil Dalvi serves as Co-General Manager of the Mobile Content Venture (MCV), a joint-venture comprised of 12 major broadcast groups, including NBCUniversal, dedicated to deploying Dyle™ mobile TV technology to mobile devices. In this capacity, Dalvi co-leads the product development, network planning and distribution efforts for the planned national mobile content service which would enable member companies to provide live video content to mobile devices including local and national news and sports and entertainment programming. He is also an executive committee member for the Open Mobile Video Coalition (OMVC), a voluntary association of television broadcasters whose mission is to accelerate the development of mobile digital television in the US.
Dalvi is Senior Vice President and General Manager, Strategic Ventures, for NBCUniversal Digital Distribution. He reports to Matt Bond, Executive Vice President, Content Distribution, NBCUniversal. Dalvi and his team have led the development and launch of several mobile content services for NBCUniversal's brands, including live TV, VOD, mobile web and mobile apps.
Dalvi joined NBC in 1998. He worked on strategy and business development for the company's emerging Internet and online video efforts, including the initial launches of CNBC.com and NBCi. Dalvi oversaw NBC's first efforts in mobile content, working with NBC's key franchises such as the Olympics, SNL, Today Show, Nightly News and others to launch and distribute a variety of mobile video and interactive products.
Dalvi holds a Master of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in political science from Vanderbilt University. He currently lives in South Orange, N.J., with his wife and son, Lori and Luke.
